The first record was of a bird present in a ploughed field at Pleinmont on the very late (early?) date of 10-14 June 1973. There have been 8 records in total up to the end of 1998 and all but one record has come from either Pleinmont (4 records involving 4 birds) or the Chouet/Ladies Bay area (3 records involving 5 birds.) The only other record comes from Pulias.

Shore Larks are autumn migrants and all but two records are from October and November. Apart from the June records there is only one other spring record of a bird seen at Pleinmont on 15 May 1994.
