Reported by a Mr Keen of Les Prevosts, St Saviours. To quote the finder-"A commotion amongst the chickens had caused my mother-in-law to emerge from the house. She saw a large bird in the trees and immediately called me. I ran out and at a distance of about 50 yards saw the bird perched in an elm tree. It was a very large bird general colouring dark brown similar to the elm tree bark. It had long red legs, red bill like sealing wax and red eye. White belly."

The bird was disturbed by an aircraft from the nearby airport and was not seen again.
