1867: 1 shot on 14th May in the Vale parish

Cecil Smith in his Birds of Guernsey noted that 'I have in my collection a Guernsey-killed specimen of the Squacco Heron, which Mr Crouch informed me was shot in that island in the summer of 1867.'

A bird was seen on the Casquets in June 1976.
