Sun 18th Dec A first-winter Iceland Gull suffering with suspected botulism was picked up at Petit Bot yesterday. Sadly, it died in care this morning.
Sat 17th Dec Chouet - adult Sabine's Gull passed offshore, heading west this morning. Also good numbers of auks (mainly Razorbills), Kittiwakes and 2 Red-breasted Mergansers there.
Sun 11th Dec Grandes Havres area - Great Northern Diver, four Great Crested Grebes, flyover Black-tailed Godwit, up to five Sandwich Terns. Rue Godfrey Quarry - eight Tufted Ducks.
Thu 8th Dec Nothing exceptional to report over the last week but typical winter species, such as grebes and ducks, have been recorded from various bays. Also lots of auks and kittiwakes and still occasional skuas offshore. Male Common Scoter in QE2 Marina at the weekend.

Tue 22nd Nov Jaonneuse - another 3 Greylag Goose past today. With 200 past Jersey this autumn and thousands past various sites in Normandy, these are most likely Swedish birds passing through to winter in Spain.

Tue 18th Oct Olive-backed Pipit at Grande Pre first seen at 12:00 today and then throughout the afternoon to dusk where it appeared to roost. Take the right hand path and it was skulking in shrubs in the first garden you come to (see map in photos section). A Bailiwick first.

Thu 7th Jan There were 4 Woodlarks this morning near Rue des Bergers, in a field at the corner of Sous les Jardins lane. L'Eree Old Aerodrome - 1 Avocet, a few Common Gulls & 2 Pintail this morning. Rousse - Pacific Diver seen again. Lots of Lapwing, Fieldfare, Redwing and Skylark at the moment.
Wed 6th Jan Port Grat - Pacific Diver reported there between 12.40 and 13.00. Grandes Havres - Pacific Diver again this morning, ranging all around the bay. Also 2 Great Northern Divers and a Black-throated Diver.
Tue 5th Jan Grandes Havres - no definite sign of the Pacific Diver today despite searching. Note that as well as the 2 Great Northern Divers there was also a 'normal' Black-throated Diver in the bay today. Also a Great Skua seen in same area today.

Sun 12th Apr A Red Kite flew over Baubigny at about 4:20, and was also seen over Camp du Roi and the Heritage Walk nature trail, before going SW over Pleinmont at 4:50.
Grand Pre - the Bittern showed well from the hide.
Sat 11th Apr This afternoon, an Osprey through the North of the island.
Fri 10th Apr Claire Mare - Sedge Warbler, House Martin + other hirundines.
Port Soif - Fan-tailed Warblers still present.
Thu 9th Apr Marais Nord - Sedge Warbler singing
Mon 6th Apr Lihou - Snowy Owl still present (also Alderney bird still present on 3rd April). Fan-tailed Warbler still at Port Soif.

Sun 5th Apr Les Tielles - an Osprey flew East along south coast early morning. Pleinmont - a Rook seen today.

Sat 4th Apr The Snowy Owl visited Pleinmont in the evening.
Pleinmont - a male Redstart at Chatsworth.

Sun 22nd Mar Port Soif - Fan-tailed Warblers still present. Fort Hommet - 2 Purple Sandpipers. Moulin Huet - G S Woodpecker drumming.
Sat 21st Mar Port Soif - a pair of Fan-tailed Warblers showing very well this morning in the rough ground between the football pitches and the main road. The male singing regularly. Also a Short-eared Owl past there at 2 o'clock.
Fri 20th Mar Port Soif - a Fan-tailed Warbler was present today in the bramble scrub by the road, between the football pitches and the Grandes Rocques Hotel. Possibly another bird present.
Guernsey Water site in St. Andrews (Bests Brickfield) - a Hoopoe seen this morning.

Sun 15th Mar Fort Hommet - large flock of 12 Purple Sandpipers. Albecq - 1 Common Sandpiper. Cobo - 1 Purple Sandpiper + 1st-w Med Gull. Marais Nord area - female G S Woodpecker.
[NB - Snowy Owl seen at Beaucamps again on 9th March]
Fri 13th Mar Migrants were in today with a few Wheatear and Sand Martins along the coast, plus 2 Swallows at Pleinmont and a House Martin at Lihou Headland. Snowy Owl still on Lihou.
